Chipolopolo international midfielder Chisamba Lungu who was arrested in Kitwe on Friday night was yesterday  released from police custody.

Zodwa Wabantu knows that she isn’t everyone’s cup of tea, however that didn’t stop her from retaliating when an unknown woman threw a drink at her during a performance at Moriting Park, Tembisa.

The entertainer snatched the young woman’s wig and hurled vulgar profanities at her.

A video of the altercation has since been doing the rounds on social media, with some followers pointing out that violence should never be the answer in any situation.

In the video, Zodwa can be heard swearing at the young woman who threw her drink at her while she was addressing the crowd as usual.

“Don’t mess with me you bi**h. Come here,” she said.

Zodwa then got off the stage and onto the speakers, and proceeded to snatch her wig to “make an example” out of her.

“I don’t like sh*t. You know why? Because I’m just like any of you. I am not a celebrity. I’m here because you love me for being me. I will never let another bi**h just disrespect me. That’s why I took her hair. This doesn’t even look like the expensive kind,” she said on stage after snatching the girl’s wig.

New Botswana President Mokgweetsi Masisi has appointed 30-year-old Bogolo Kenewendo as new Minister of Investment, Trade and Industry.

She is the youngest MP in the Botswana National Assembly.

1. Kenewendo lived and worked in Ghana as a Trade economist in the Ministry of Trade and Industry in the Government of Ghana and was previously employed as an Economic consultant at Econsult Botswana.

2. She was one of two Botswana youth delegates to the 64th Session of the United Nations General Assembly. As part of this responsibility, she was nominated to present a statement of African youth to the Secretary General of the United Nations,

3. She holds MSc in International Economics from the University of Sussex in the United Kingdom and was a recipient of a prestigious Chevening Scholarship in 2012.

4. She completed her BA in Economics at the University of Botswana where she also had the unique experience of taking part in the exchange programme at Pitzer College and completing the regional integration programme – Tor Vergatta, Jean Monnet Summer programme.

4. She is a certified Project Management PRINCE 2 practitioner.

5. Her areas of expertise include: Macroeconomic policy, public debt management, trade policy, export development, trade in services, regulatory frameworks, trade related issues, trade and investment policy, industrial development policy, institutional frameworks for policy formulation, poverty alleviation, financial sector development, etc.

Kanyama Member of Parliament Elizabeth has expressed concerned with the increase in cases of spousal killing in the country.

Ms. Phiri says the issue of spousal murder, as an extreme manifestation of domestic violence, cannot be ignored, and requires a firm response.

She also says culture among the different tribal groups is to blame for the increasing cases of sexual and Gender Based Violence (SGBV) in the country.

The law maker says this is because some retrogressive customs deprive women and girls of the right to make their own decisions on sexuality issues.

Ms. Phiri has emphasized that the old customs are a manifestation of gender inequality in different parts of the country.

And ms. Phiri has urged in depth – pre-marriage counseling by the different religious faiths to expose the youth to the stark realities of marriage.

She has advised young couples to exercise restraint and seek wise counseling when they encountered marital problems.

This she said would go a long way to reduce the increasing spousal killings among youthful couples in the country.

Former ZNBC Director General Chibamba Kanyama has advised Cosmas Chileshe to return to his wife and abandon the relationship he might have with Maureen Nkandu.

In a passionate posting on his facebook page, Chibamba has appealed to Chileshe, who is a former ZNBC reporter, to learn from his life.

Chibamba says he nearly abandoned his wife and family 20 years ago, a matter that could have ruined his life and professional career.

He said the path that Cosmas Chileshe had taken was a fatal one and likely to harvest disastrous consequences.

“I shared my testimony on Christian Voice in 1998, after a nearly fatal mistake of my life.” He wrote.

“I really give glory to God for pulling me out of a potentially destructive decision.”

“I had literally stopped thinking; I was convinced I was making a great decision.”

“But it was a selfish decision; almost destroying my family and my own life.”

“I look back today and thank God for coming in my path!”

“I now have a great family- my children excelling; my own life excelling and my wife looking increasingly beautiful by the day to the point I never imagine myself going after another woman beside my wife.”

“You remember how I stood strong at ZNBC on issues of marriages…it is because I know what that means; how I nearly destroyed it.”

Chileshe 42years, has divorced his wife for what appears to be a choice to be with Maureen Nkandu(51yrs).

Cosmas has left his wife Claudia Musonda in divorce proceedings that were concluded in the Kitwe High Court.

He has since sent her packing from Washington and their four children back to Kitwe.

Maureen Nkandu, who is also a veteran broadcaster, has failed to hold on to a job the last five years and appears to be in serious financial distress and huge debts.
A few years ago, Maureen divorced former Zambia Airways and South African Airways employee, Danny Mundea.

She seemed to have latched onto an affair with Cosmas, as a lifeline and a gateway to career opportunities in the United States.

Senteni Masango, the eight wife of Africa’s last absolute monarch, Swaziland’s King Mswati III, has died after committing suicide.

She was found dead in the early hours of Friday morning, April 6, barely a week after the burial of her sister Nombuso Masango.

It was alleged that the king ordered to ensure that she neither attends her late sister’s memorial service nor funeral. Until her death, she allegedly lived alone for over three years in a big mansion with not a single visit from the king.

King Mswati last year officially unveiled a new bride, Siphelele Mashwama, the 19-year-old daughter of a Swaziland Cabinet minister, Jabulile Mashwama.

She became his fourteenth wife, though some have left him. Further reports claim he now has 15 wives.

King Mswati was born Makhosetive Dlamini, which means “King of Nations”. When Mswati’s father, King Sobhuza II died, Mswati was only 14 years old. Because he was still attending school at this time, two of his father’s queens (Queen Dzeliwe Shongwe, and Queen Ntombi Tfwala) stepped in as regent until Mswati could take the throne.

DAYS after bosteriously saying that he was going to pay Smash Entertainment the K200 his Loud House Studio owes for the beats it used for the production of a hit song “Whine Your Waist” ,artiste Willz Mr Nyopole has continued proclastinating to make the payment.

And Smash Entertainment producer Kappa Smash says it is an insult for Willz to claim that he does not know him when the two had a brief business relationship.
When asked last week to comment on allegations of copyright infringement, Willz went barristic and vilified both Smash Entertainment and this writer.
Willz of the Toliwe fame said he has never dealt with Smash Entertainment as the transction was between producer Kappa Smash and his young brother, insisting that he does not know the “beats man”. Willz said he is now a big star who has reached a level where he cannot deal with upstarts like Kappa Smash and wondered whether this writer is a publisher worth his salt for him to give credence to a story of the unknown producer.
He told Kwacha Celebrity that he would pay Smash Entertainment K200, the money it was claiming for the beats of the song his “young brother” after the Easter holidays.
Mr Willz said as a big star, K200 is not the amount of money he can fail to pay on behalf his “young brother”.
When reached for a comment, the duo of Smash Entertainment Manager Tobby Skippa and producer Kappa Smash said despite all the braggings, Mr Nyopole has not yet paid the said amount.
“He(Mr Willz) hasn’t paid , unfortunately he hasn’t. He just wants to smash Kappa Smash, unfortunately. You see, taking advantage of up coming artistes is not good. In the first place, Willz knew that, that song will make a hit song for his young brother , that is a reason he used it. He knows what Kappa Smash is capable of. So, to degrade people like that, it is not human,” the Smash Entertaiment Manager said, ” How can he surely say that he doesn’t know producer Kappa Smash?”
And Kappa Smash is surprised that Willz denied knowing him.
” It is immature of him. With due respect, my product is what I do with my best efforts and I believe in it . So, if somebody degrade me like that, I don’t take it lightly. There are consiquences for everything. With his response…I think it is stupid of him to come out like that. I worked with Mike Burner on his Kenneth Kaunda song and Mike Burner and Willz are colleagues.So, how does he claim that he doesn’t know me? I dealt directly with him, when I was giving him the song which he tampered with and reproduced for Dee Le Twin’s song,”
Asked whether Willz was right that he dealt with his young brother and not him, the singer said: ” I didn’t even know about his young brother until I read the newspaper. I don’t know his young brother.”
Asked what steps he would take if Willz continues procrastinating in paying, Skappa Smash said he will seek legal redress.
Asked why they can’t just let it go and allow Willz to get on with his life, Skippa said it is not just the question of the little money involved but it is by law that every artistes pays for the production of the song because that is intellectual property.
Moreover, Skippa said, there is theft of beats involved because there was no agreement between Loud House studios and Smash Entertainment.
He however, said the Entertainment firm is currently preocupied with the release of the next album in April, therefore, does not want to engage in war-of-words with anyone, including Mr Munyopole.
Most artistes including writers and actors in Zambia remain ignorant about copyright infringement issues, the case in point being the amount of plagerised artworks which have gone unpunished.
This has being worsened with the introduction of technology through internent facility.
